The main opposition All People's Congress (APC) has removed its two-time presidential candidate, Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara, from the position of Chief Negotiator of the party at the Tripartite Committee.

The APC Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya Esq. has reportedly confirmed to the committee that their party has replaced Dr. Samura Kamara with Dr. Kelfala Marah, who was initially a member of the APC's negotiating team but refused to sign the final Agreement for National Unity.

The Agreement for National Unity was signed following the June 2023 national elections, which resulted in the formation of the Tripartite Committee on Electoral System Review and the implementation of Inter-Party Dialogue.

The party has not publicly stated the reason for replacing its Chief Negotiator.

According to report, the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Tripartite Committee Report met last Thursday 11th September 2025, and the meeting was fully attended by with representatives from all over Sierra Leone and across all sectors.

Updates from the meeting indicated that over 80% of the recommendations have been either completed or ongoing.

Those aligned with the Constitutional Review Whitepaper are already prepared by the Ministry of Justice for parliamentary debate, while the Public Sector Reform Unit has already completed its review for ECSL, PPRC, IMC, SLBC, IPCB, NCRA, among others, and every institution is actively delivering.
