The Audit Service Sierra Leone (ASSL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Supreme Audit Institution of India to strengthen partnership, knowledge exchange and capacity building endeavours in accordance with the existing laws of both countries.
The exchange signing of the MoU between the two offices was facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sierra Leone on 8th September, 2025.
A note of appreciation to Shri. K. Sanjay Murthy, Comptroller and Auditor General of the Republic of India, from Mr. Abdul Aziz, Auditor General of the Audit Service of Sierra Leone, stated that Sierra Leone and India share a productive bi-lateral relationship that has flourished into a collaborative and supportive partnership at both national and international levels.
The Auditor General and the Board of the Audit Service Sierra Leone noted the pivotal role of the Indian High Commission in Sierra Leone in facilitating the development and signing of the MoU.
Both Supreme Audit Institutions intend to develop cooperation on bilateral basis within the framework of INTOSAI and other cooperation formats, with the aim to exchange experience, information and organization of activities in the fields of Performance and Information System audits.
They also aim to collaborate in new and emerging areas in the field of external audit.
