The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) have declared one Alhaji Maligie Sesay wanted following frantic efforts to arrest him after his wife Hannah Jalloh reported him for alleged gay activities.
According to confirmed reports, Alhaji Malikgie Sesay, on Wednesday night, 3rd August 3, 2022, returned home from a party.
While he was undressing in the room in the presence of his wife, she discovered to her greatest surprise that he had an earring in one of his genital piercings.
Consequently, Hannah Jalloh grew furious and reminded him of how his parents had reprimanded him for gay activities and had even preached to him countlessly to abandon the evil practice in its entirety.
In anger, the wife Hannah Jalloh reportedly stabbed her husband in the leg, which incurred a very deep wound, and threatened that she would have killed him if she had not bore children for him, but she would prefer to report him to the police so that he would rot in jail.
Hannah reportedly locked Alhaji Maligie Sesay in the room and rushed to the nearby police station to report the incident. But Alhaji Maligie Sesay reportedly broke the window of the room, taking advantage of the weakened wooden-zinc building, and escaped from the house.
When Hannah returned home with some police personnel to arrest her husband, they discovered that he had escaped from the house through the broken window.
The police immediately mounted a manhunt for Alhaji Maligie Sesay at his residence at 48E Seaside Lane by Fankry Street, Palmronkoh Calaba Town in the capital Freetown. They also searched for him around the community but to no avail.
The police authorities later declared Alhaji Maligie Sesay wanted for the attention of the public and Interpol after his wife reported to the police that she had been reliably informed that her husband had escaped to neighbouring Republic of Guinea.
As at press time, the whereabouts of Alhaji Maligie Sesay, who was born on 8th September 1991, were not known as police continue to search for him.
