Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB), the leading and biggest commercial bank in Sierra Leone has taken a giant step to engage in sensitization and awareness raising to the general public on the precautionary measures against the spread of coronavirus.

The bank has demonstrated exemplary leadership as the big brother in the financial and banking sector by being the first government institution to embark on street parade with stickers carrying preventive measures messages from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation as well as the global health body, World Health Organization.

Speaking at the launch of the precautionary measures sensitization campaign on Tuesday 24th March, 2020 held at SLCB Head Office, Siaka Steven Street in Freetown,

SLCB Managing Director, Abdul Fidelis Turay disclosed that the launch of the sensitization campaign by his bank was to answer to the clarion call of President Julius Maada Bio for Ministries, government departments and agencies to take proactive measures in the fight against the disease.

Apart of the proactive precautionary measures taken as a bank to prevent their valuable and loyal customers and the country at large in all its branches across the country, he said SLCB is playing its part again in engaging in this campaign on how the public would prevent themselves from the disease.

He called on all to adhere to the directives of the President and the ministry responsible in the fight against coronavirus spread in the country.

He further reiterated that “prevention is key, Corona virus is real, prevent the spread of corona, wash your hands regularly with soap and water, social distancing and avoid hands shaking”.

“Adhering to the precautionary measures, together we say NO TO CORONAVIRUS,” he averred.
