The Rt Honourable Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu, has given a stern warning to detractors threatening to take legal action against the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL) at the International Court of Justice.

Giving the keynote address at the Leone Rock Metal Group’s (LRMG) auspicious commissioning of the Commencement of the Expansion and Restoration of the Railway and Pepel Port on Sunday 5th November, 2023 at Pepel in Port Loko District, the eloquent Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu Esq., advised the detractors to read Section 40 of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone properly.
According to the Speaker of Parliament, that section of the constitution gives the power to the President and Cabinet to sign contracts on behalf of the Government and people of Sierra Leone while Parliament as his constituent ratifies them. 
He emphasized that Sierra Leone is a sovereign state and that the Government was ready for any litigation.
The Speaker disclosed that he attended the programme because Port Loko is his home district, and the marvelous job of LRMG in the district.  
He said that previously, mining companies had been exporting iron ore in thousands of tons but this is the first time Kingho Mining Company Limited, a subsidiary to LRMG, will be exporting iron ore in millions of tons, adding that this is also the first time Sierra Leoneans have heard of such a huge amount of money which the state will be benefiting from.
Dr. Bundu therefore urged LRMG to fast-track their work in order to start exporting the iron ore and assured them of his fullest support towards the project.
The learned Speaker concluded by thanking the Management of Kingho Mining Company Limited and LRMG for their tremendous work in Sierra Leone.
