Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh on Monday 26th February, 2024 attended the Legacy Conference in Freetown, where he delivered a keynote address raising awareness on the contributions of the Special Court for Sierra Leone to International Justice, Peace and Security.
In his keynote speech, Vice President highlighted the immense contributions of the Special Court for Sierra Leone and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) towards the transformational justice, good governance and stability in Sierra Leone.
He underscored that they have not only helped shape the establishment of democratic institutions in the country such as the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL) but also nurtured processes and local competencies that continue to impact the justice landscape both at home and abroad.
Vice President Juldeh Jalloh, who averred that we don’t want any war again in Sierra Leone, emphasized the importance of rising above partisan divide to actively promote national cohesion which he stressed is pivotal for a stable democracy.
The Legacy Conference was organized by the Sierra Leone Government of H.E. President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and its partners to highlight how hybrid UN Special
Court for Sierra Leone (SC-SL) helped develop International Jurisprudence, Peace and Security.
