As the All People’s Congress (APC) party may focus on selecting a Muslim candidate for the 2028 national elections, three prominent figures have earmarked as potential frontrunners included former Vice President of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Samuel Sam Sumana, Hon. Cherinoh Ramadan Maju Bah aka Chericoco and Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray.

According to cross section of top APC party stalwarts who intimated this press, each of the aforementioned potential candidate offers a distinct appeal, representing different factions and regional strengths in the country.

They further noted that if the party decided to go in that direction of choosing a Muslim candidate, the grassroots supporters will welcome such a strategic move in a bid consolidate support within key regions.

They further that any of the three who may emerge flag bear of the party would bring unique strengths in ensuring victory for the party 2028 election.
‘Sam Sumana, the former Vice President will bring with him a wealth of experience and a reputation for resilience, having navigated political challenges and controversies in the past. His inclusion on the shortlist signals the APC's attempt to heal past divisions and present a united front.

Chericoco, a seasoned politician and former Deputy Speaker is seen as a unifying figure with strong ties to the party's base and a proven track record in leadership. His appeal to both grassroots supporters and the political elite has positioned him as a formidable contender.

Alhaji Minkailu is the top most experienced politician amongst them. He has been viewed seasoned politician with a dynamic approach to politics. He is an asset who had gone through the ranks in the APC party to attain the National Chairman’s position.’ they analyzed.
