As a democratic political party, the Sierra Leone People’s Party has successfully conducted its primaries at all levels nationwide, which has resulted in the preparation of a delegates' list of 1,200.
Though there were some hiccups in a few constituencies across the various regions, both the party and the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) ensured that cases of petitioners were looked into and addressed in the ballot box.
Many observers admired and praised the SLPP for its democratic stance in the primary elections.
The delegates list will now be used for the conduct of the National Delegates Conference, where new National Executive members will be elected by the 1,200 delegates, who in turn will take the responsibility for the flagbear election, respectively.
