As part of its continuous effort to foster mutual understanding and cooperation with host communities, the Community Department led by Manager Alusine A. Sesay represented Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) at Simiria, Sambaia and Dansogoia chiefdoms in Tonkolili district, to effect payment of crops compensation to affected communities as a result of the mining activities or construction of roads.

The payment was done at the different communities included Mabontor, Bafaya, and Maforika in Simiria Chiefdom, Sangbaia in Sambaia Chiefdom and Kegbema,Kemedugu and Gbomgomba in Dansogoia Chiefdom .Uunder the leadership of the Community Manager, Mr. Alusine Sesay; the payment exercise demonstrated the company’s continued commitment to honouring its legal and social obligations while fostering mutual respect and cooperation with host communities.

“This provision ensures that affected communities directly benefit from mining operations conducted on their farm lands. The crop compensation payment serves as not only a legal obligation but also a reflection of the company’s corporate social responsibility to the people. For Simiria Chiefdom m they received the sum of NLE 840,186, Sambaia Chiefdom - NLE 37,318 and Dansogoia Chiefdom - NLE 625,040 making a total of NLE 1,502,544 ” he disclosed.

The event commenced with a brief statement by Leone Rock Metal GroupCommunity Manager, Mr. Alusine A Sesay. He explained the purpose of the visit, emphasizing the company’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous collaboration with Simiria, Sambaia, and Dansogoia chiefdims.
