Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) a leading mining company in Africa, has made a significant impact on the lives of university students across the country, including National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) University graduates. By offering internship opportunities to students from various universities like the Fourah Bay College, Unimak, Njala University, Ernest Bai Koroma University and many more; the company has provided them with valuable working experience and equipped them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their chosen careers.
This laudable adventure which lasted for a period of three months for the interns and eleven months for the NYSC university graduates helps students learn and get the working experience they would need after graduation.
The internship program offered by LRMG has numerous benefits for students. Interns gain hands-on experience in their chosen field, develop critical skills, and build their confidence.
They also have the opportunity to work with experienced professionals and experts, building their network and making valuable connections. Upon completion of the internship program, students received certification for their achievements, which can be a valuable addition to their resume.
Among the total number of one hundred and twenty (120) of them, the best serving students were offered a permanency position upon the completion of their courses and this was also done for the National Youth Service graduates from across different universities in the country.
LRMG’s commitment to excellence is evident in its internship program. The company's approach to talent development and empowerment demonstrates its dedication to giving back to the community and contributing to the country's economic growth.
By investing in the next generation of professionals, LRMG is ensuring a brighter future for the country and the continent as a whole. By providing students with valuable work experience and skills, the company is helping to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
This can lead to increased productivity, reduced unemployment rates among young graduates, and economic growth.
