Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has reaffirmed that deepening security cooperation between Sierra Leone and Liberia must remain a top priority for both nations.

He made the statement during a courtesy visit from the Inspector General of the Liberia National Police, Hon. Gregory O. W. Coleman, who led a high-level delegation to the Vice President’s Tower Hill office on Tuesday, 15th November 2025.

Welcoming the team, VP Juldeh Jalloh spoke about the longstanding human, cultural, and historical ties linking the two countries, describing Sierra Leone and Liberia as “sister nations” bound by shared experiences and a common destiny. As Chairman of the Police Council, he stressed that these bonds should continue to guide collaboration, particularly on cross-border security.

Reflecting on past interactions in Monrovia and Freetown, he noted that familiarity and mutual trust between the two peoples had always formed the backbone of partnership within the Mano River Union. Strengthening coordination, he said, would help both countries prevent cross-border crime, improve policing standards, and safeguard communities on both sides of the border.

“We value this relationship, and we believe we have a lot in common,” the Vice President said. “If we work together, we can achieve meaningful results for our people.”
Inspector General Coleman expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed Liberia’s commitment to enhanced cooperation.

The meeting concluded on a positive note as VP Juldeh Jalloh conveyed warm fraternal greetings from His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio to Liberia’s President, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, calling for continued unity, trust, and shared purpose between the two countries.

The visit is part of the Liberian Police Chief’s four-day working mission to Sierra Leone aimed at strengthening security coordination and reinforcing longstanding ties within the Mano River Union.
