The General Manager of the Sierra Leone Ports Authority has said his administration would plumb all leakages at the Port in order to address staff welfare and benefit the country. Dr. Abdulai Fofana made these statements during his first general meeting with the general staff body of the Sierra Leone Ports Authority.

According to Dr. Fofana, there are lots of leakages his new administration has identified and if plumb would benefit the general workforce and the country as a whole.

“I come to work for you and better your lives. So far, the new management has identified lots of micro-financial loopholes which if addressed will improve on the staff welfare and better the country as whole, “adding that this would never be achieved without the concerted efforts of the general workforce.

The New General Manager furthered that he inherited a politically driven institution which he avowed to sanitise.
On his part, the Deputy General Manager Mr. Yankuba Askia Bio said their new administration approach is that of the bottom-top approach wherein premium is place on staff in the lower cadre whom he said constitutes the bulk of the workforce. He also avowed to look into their welfares.

He hammed on punctuality, respect; professionalism and interpersonal relationship among staff which he said are the pillars of their administration.

The meeting was attended by the Port Senior Staff Association and the Dock Workers Union Executives who showered praises on the General Manager and his deputy, describing them as visionary essence of staff welfare and agents of transforming the port; and promised to give them the necessary supports.
