The current Minister of Lands, Dr Denis Sandy is a person of interest to the Commission of Inquiry, since he served in the former President Koroma led APC government whose officials, inculding ministers are the subject of the probe.

Hence, Dr Sandy who was Lands Minister in the President Koroma government should not only appear before the Commission of Inquiry to testify in his capacity as a former political head of a ministry, but also as person of interest for the many controversies surrounding the management and sales of state lands under the then government.

One of these alarming land deals under the then government includes the granting of an xtensive lease of over 4 acres of state land to G. Shankerdas by the Scout Camp along the Morgayba-Grafton highway purportedly to be used as a Coconut plantation, which was clouded by serious fraud allegations.

Sandy, in his present capacity as Lands Minister in the President Bio regime is known to have nullified many land documents that were authorized by the ministry during his first tenure as minister.

Conversely, many have described government’s attempt to exclude Dr Denis Sandy from the nefarious deals that took place during his tenure such as the extensive land lease to G. Shankerdas as absolute partiality to his colleague ministers now investigated by the three Commissions of Inquiry, while some senior

APC executive members say, his exclusion is not unconnected to the fact that he (minister) is a tribesman of the President.

These enraged APC executive members who spoke to the Satelitte said, the Commission of Inquiry is looking into allegations of wide scale corruption by the former government that does not exclude political, professional and administrative heads of Minstries Departments and Agencies which Dr Sandy was part of.

Dr Denis Sandy who now wants to hoodwink the public into believing that he is Mr. Clean man was used by ex-President Koroma in a highly machinated land ploy against the former majority leader of Parliament, Hon. Eddie Turay.
