Orange Sierra Leone, the biggest and widest telecommunications company in the country, last Friday 21st July, 2023 donated digital kits to Rogbaneh Secondary School for Girls in Makeni City.
The donation of the digital kits including five new desktop computers was a continuation of the company’s corporate social responsibility drive to impact the lives of people in the country.
Orange Sierra Leone is focused on its drive to support digital inclusion by providing digital kits to primary and secondary as well as tertiary institutions nationwide.
The donation ceremony was witnessed by key stakeholders including the former Mayor and Chief Administrator of Makeni City Council, Sierra Leone Teachers’ Union (SLTU), and teachers and pupils of the school.
In its drive to boost digitalization in Sierra Leone, Orange Sierra Leone had long ago started digital inclusion with the establishment of digital computer lab schools in both primary and secondary schools.
The significance of distributing these digital kits is to boost digital and technological learning for primary and secondary school pupils.
Speaker after speaker expressed gratitude to the telecommunications company for the donation and also recounted previous donations the company had made in the past that were all geared towards digital inclusion notably amongst pupils.
Orange Sierra Leone is on record as the leading corporate company complementing Government’s effort to boost digital inclusion in the country.
