Orange Sierra Leone, the leading and biggest telecommunications company in the country, yesterday Monday 11th December, 2023 updated the media on its activities in a media engagement session held at Orange Headquarters on Regent Road, Hill Station in Freetown.
The Orange media engagement session often holds quarterly to update the media about the company’s key achievements and interventions towards customers’ satisfaction.
Speaking at the media engagement, the Orange Director of Customers’ Experience, Alpha Bundu, said the programme is geared towards informing the media about key achievements of Orange (SL), interact as well as to appreciate them for their roles played in ensuring that the public is well informed about their activities, offers, investments and to share the company’s ambition.
According to him, “Today, if Orange (SL) is considered a reference partner, and household name in terms of leading digitization with an improved voice and data package plus better reach/coverage, we owe it to the amplifying role of the media. I will confidently say with shared opinion that communication is a need that has become a necessity. We know we are not perfect, but for that reason, we are committed to making sure that the products and services we offer meet the needs of our customers and all citizens of this country.”
The Director expressed his deepest gratitude to the media for performing the role that helps the company to occupy the precious hearts, minds and souls of the people of Sierra Leone through their strategic conventional and social media leveraging tools.
Orange Director of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Public Relations, Kamal Abass, highlighted the various interventions of the company through its CSR, including education, health, environment, among others positively impacting the lives of people in the country.
He said Orange has hit the target of 97% of customers using 2G, 3G - 96% and 4G - 75%, while he underscored the significant role of the media as part of the journey of the company’s Mission and Vision for its customers.
Kamal Abass further spoke about the sustainable steps the company has taken to reduce carbon and protect the environment with the installation of solar in most of the company’s sites nationwide.
The Director spoke about the thousands of employment opportunities Orange has created both direct and indirect employment through its investments.
Orange Marketing Representative, Elizabeth Walker, highlighted the various products offered and ongoing campaigns geared towards satisfying customers’ desire.
Orange Money Representative, Isha Sesay, reiterated the various opportunities customers could access via using Orange Money, including oversea money, digital loans, payment of utility bills, international remittance incoming, among other facilities.
Media Retainer and Partner, Dauda Bangura and Lawrence Williams, extolled the media as a very reliable partner in helping the growth of businesses and marketing.
As they called on Orange (SL) for more support to the media, they registered the commitment of the media to continue promoting the brand and Orange (SL) respectively.
