Orange Sierra Leone, the biggest and widest mobile network in the country, yesterday Thursday 3rd August, 2023 officially opened the newly constructed national office of the Sierra Leone Bike Riders Union and also launched the pay with Orange Money Service at Jenner Wright Road in the Race Course Community around the Up Gun Turntable in East End Freetown.


The company through a partnership agreement supported a befitting expansion of the Bike Riders Union office. The bike riders nationwide will start utilizing ‘Pay Me With Orange Money’ for services like transportation they are rendering to the general public.

The official opening and the launch climaxed with a raffle draw wherein market women and bike riders who won umbrellas and helmets respectively.

The Bike Riders Union National President, Umaru Teli Bah, underscored the importance of the partnership with Orange Sierra Leone, saying the company came at the right time to help them have a befitting office.

He called on colleague riders to take advantage of the partnership with Orange for the mutual growth and development of the two organizations.

The Regional Chairmen of the union in all the four regions of the country expressed gratitude to Orange for making their dream come to reality with the expanded edifice and appealed for such facility to be replicated in the provinces.

The Chief Executive Officer of Orange Sierra Leone, Sekou Amadu Bah, thanked the Bike Riders Union Executive and Orange Team for the collaboration to making the project a reality.

He said the construction of the office was just the beginning of the many potentials to support the union through the partnership.

The CEO further urged his team and the Union Executive to think about another sustainable project and also promised to replicate such facility in the regions.

Head of Partnership and Strategy, Orange Money, Abibatu Baxter, said the Pay With Orange Money Service will ensure cashless transaction and address the challenge of change issue between riders and pillions.

She furthered that bike riders will also utilize the service to pay for licenses, service bike, buy spare parts among other transactions.

Orange Sierra Leone Deputy Director of Commercial, Bolor T. Sesay, underscored the importance of the partnership with the union, pointing out that bike riders will be used as point of sales to ensure Orange products and services reach people in remote or hard-to-reach communities nationwide.
